Anubhav Sinha & Ankit Tiwari May Never Work Together Again
The filmmaker and the music director collaborated on Tum Bin 2 and the blame game began as soon as the film tanked at the box-office
Tum Bin released
more than 15 years ago and the songs from that sleeper hit remain popular till
date. No wonder that the hopes were high when Anubhav Sinha returned to make
the sequel to the romantic musical in 2016. He roped in Ankit Tiwari, who was
on a high with a number of hits, to make the music for the film starring Neha
Sharma, Aditya Seal and Aashim Gulati. And naturally, the makers expected
an album full of chartbusters.
But Tum Bin 2
sank at the box-office without making a mark and the music also failed to earn
any brownie points. So who was to blame?

Turns out,
Anubhav Sinha and Ankit Tiwari have spent the past few months playing the blame
game.
Our sources tell
us that Anubhav feels that Ankit could have done a better job on the music.
“Anubhav has been
expressing his disappointment to a lot of friends in the industry. Behind every
failure there has to be a scapegoat and Ankit is being blamed by the director.
He has not confronted Ankit about the same but has spoken to a few people in the
industry,” said a source.
When we got in
touch with the director, Anubhav maintained that he has a cordial relationship
with Ankit.
“Ankit is a
very dear friend and one of the most wonderful musicians I have known. If
needed Ankit and I will work together again,” he maintained.
Well paying lip
service is easy but the proof is in the pudding and our sources maintain that
the two have no plans to work with each other again.
